James D. Pottinger, age 83, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, Buford. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM. Due to allergies within the family, please do not send any flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of James to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. James is preceded in death by his son, Mark E. Pottinger. He is survived by his wife, Helen Pottinger; children, Jay Pottinger, Tracy Kakos, Joy Baun, Sheryl Pottinger; grandchildren, Melissa, Katie, Ashely; Ryan, Kimberly, Jessica; Elizabeth, John Paul, Lauren; Rose, Dylan; Nicholas and Grace; siblings, Evelyn Lawson, Jane Gambert, Michael Pottinger, and Doris Wise.
