Obituary of Ellen Leathers

Ellen Taylor Leathers, age 95 of Dacula, GA, died Monday, January 13, 2020. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Darden Shadrach, grandson Michael Downton and great granddaughter Sarah Leines will officiate. Interment will follow on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 12 Noon – 2 PM at the funeral home. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leathers, Jr.; daughter, Sandy Leathers. She is survived by her daughters, Bunny Gauntt, Buford, Jenny Downton and husband Ronald, Social Circle; grandchildren, Laurie Leines, Sharpsburg, David Leines, Sharpsburg, Julie Abare, Marietta, Matthew Downton, Decatur, Michael Downton, Social Circle; great grandchildren, Tyler Leines, Newnan, Sarah Leines, Buford, Logun Downton, Social Circle, Bailey Abare, Marietta, Gage Downton, Social Circle, Heather Downton, Athens. Ellen was born in Cotton, GA and was a lifelong resident of the metro Atlanta area. She was a homemaker and member of Crusselle Freeman Church of the Deaf, Atlanta.
