Betty Jean Kilgore Matthews, age 73, of Tucker, GA died Sunday, March 20, 2005 after an extended illness. Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at 2:30 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev Danny Newbern officiated. Interment followed in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family received friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 5-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to: Zion Hill Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 3390 South Puckett Rd., Buford, GA 30519.
Surviving are: Husband, Ralph Matthews, Tucker, GA Sons and Daughters In-law, Brad and Teresa Cole, Tucker, GA, John and Connie Cole, Lawrenceville, GA, David and Donna Cole, Beech Island, SC. Grandchildren, Dustin Cole, Christa Cole, Allison Cole, James Cole and Andrea Cole. Sisters, Annie Ruth Saunders, Atlanta, GA and Ruby Carter, Trenton, GA. Sister In-law Mattie C. Kilgore, Buford, GA. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Mrs. Matthews was a native of Gwinnett County and a life long resident of the area. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford, GA
