Obituary of Rita Maddox Bennett

Rita Maddox Bennett, age 65, of Buford, GA died suddenly on Friday, March 4, 2005. Funeral Service was held Monday, March, 7, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jerry Bennett, and Rev. Kenneth Parker officiated. Interment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The Family received friends on Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. and Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 2:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made to the Grandchildren's education fund C/O Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens 3481 Hamilton Mill Rd, Buford, GA 30519. Rita was preceded in death by her Father, Bonnie J. Maddox and her Son, Donnie Jerome Bennett. Rita is survived by her husband of 44 years, Billy (Barlow) Bennett, Buford; Daughter and Son In-law, Debbie and Kent Pugh, Buford; Son, Danny Bennett, Buford; Grandchildren, Brandy and Kyle Pugh, Buford, Jacob and Jeremy Bennett, Buford; Mother, Evelyn Maddox, Buford; Brothers and Sisters In-law, Ray and Cheryle Maddox, Hoschton, Carey and Nell Maddox, Jefferson, Ted and Janice Maddox, Winder, Mickey and Karen Maddox, Buford, Jeff (Bo) and Becky Maddox, Flowery Branch; Sisters and Brothers In-law, Sandra and Harry Wilson, Buford, Nancy and Stanley Pugh, Buford; Several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her Primerica Financial Services Family. Rita was a life long resident of Buford, a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford and a member of the 1958 Graduating Class of Buford High School. She was employed with Primerica Financial Services for the past 18 years and formerly employed with Safeco Insurance for 17 years. Rita was known for her outstanding basketball ability at Buford High School and her many faithful years of service to the Greater Buford Athletic Association. She had a loving spirit and will be deeply missed.
