Obituary of Christine F. Gilliland

Christine F. Gilliland, age 81, of Dadeville, AL, died September 8, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral Service was held Friday, September 12, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Radney's Funeral Home Chapel, Alexander City, AL. Rev. Charles Gilliland and Rev Jerry Teel officiated. Interment followed in Hillview Memorial Park, Alexander City, AL. The Family received friends on Thursday, September 11, 2003 from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Radney's Funeral Home. Flowers were accepted or contributions may be made to Children's Harbor, 1 Our Children's Highway, Children's Harbor, AL 35010. Mrs. Gilliland was preceded in death by her husband, McHaney Gilliland; Son, Mack Wayne Gilliland; Sisters, Lois Voncile Hardy, Laverne Fomby; Brothers, Billy Joseph Fomby, Ira Sanders Fomby, Preston Fomby, Edmond Fomby and L.G. Fomby. Surviving are: Daughter, Nancy Amanda Gilliland, Dadeville, AL; Son and Daughter In-law, Rev. Charles and Kathy Gilliland, Buford, GA; Granddaughter, Kathryn Eleanor Gilliland, Buford, GA; Sisters, Annie Morrelle Forbus, Alexander City, AL, Lucy Irene Lamb, Winston, GA, Mattie Nadine Martin, Seman, GA, Flora May Berry, Opelika, AL. Mrs. Gilliland was a life long resident of Alexander City, AL. She retired from Russell Mills with over 40 years of service. She served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts and was active in the WMU. She was a member of Lake Martin Baptist Church. Local arrangements by Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel.
