Lance D. Barnes, age 51 of Peoria, IL and formerly of Gwinnett County died suddenly on Friday, December 30, 2016. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jeff Worley and Mr. Hal Banks will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the American Asthma Foundation at www.americanasthmafoundation.org in memory of Lance Barnes. Lance was preceded in death by his mother Billie Brady. He is survived by his son, Jackson David Barnes, Peoria, IL; parents Jack and Joy Barnes, Braselton, GA; sister, Lisa Kennedy (William Nation), Crawford, GA; brothers, Mark Barnes (Shawnna), Flowery Branch, GA, Gregg Sears (Sonya), Jefferson, GA, Dwayne Sears (Michelle), Ponte Vedra, FL; nephew, Zachary Sears, Jefferson, GA; niece, Kelsey Bailey (Caleb), Newport News, VA; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lance was born in Atlanta, GA. He was employed with Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Jackson and was involved with his football team.
