I'm so sorry that you lost a loved one to death!! I've lost many dear ones in the past because of the enemy death, and I want to share some comforting scriptures with you from God's word the Bible that comforted me during my time of grief. Psalms 34:19 states that God is close to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit he saves. God truly cares for you!! Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. On your spare time please look up Revelation 21:3,4. It offers a tremendous amount of comfort for those who have lost ones to death. I hope this has brought some comfort to you as it did to me.

Josh, you have encouraged me on several occasions with God's soul provision from the psalms. Right now as you and Jacelyn are experiencing substantial loss, and walking through the shadow of death, I place this psalm here not to point you away from grief, but to return the favor of soul nourishment you've provided me in the midst of sorrow. I'm praying for you, brother.
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 121
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Psalm 116:15

My deepest condolences for the loss of your dear loved one. While nothing will completely take away your grief by meditating on Gods promises found in the Bible you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. My family and I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."

Sheila, and family,
James was a steadfast friend, mentor and accountability partner, and I will miss him. His love for his Lord was unquestioned, just as his love for his family. He had a gift to draw people deeper into a personal relationship with Christ. I was blessed to benefit from that God given gift. James understood the tremendous need to Christ like mentors in today’s word. He also took that need and put it into action. He was a man that would not only dig deep into God’s word, but in the next moment could bring laughter to an entire room. I pray God’s peace will comfort your entire family.
Blessings and peace,
J

To the family of James
It is with a sad heart that I learn about the passing of James. He was a very friendly man that seemed to love life. Although, I have only known James a short time it was evident that he was a good Christian man. I'm sure he will be sorely missed. My condolences to the entire family. My prayers will be with the family during this time.

Margie and I are terribly saddened to hear of James' passing, but we are thankful that he is now experiencing God's glory in heaven. James is a model example of a what a Jesus Follower is: grace, humility, and kindness toward all. I could see his genuine love of people the times I shared in God's work with him. I will treasure these times and look forward to seeing him again. God's grace on Sheila and the entire Reed family in the days and weeks ahead. Love from Margie and Doug

Dear Shelia and family,
James enriched and blessed our family as well as so many! He was a true leader and wonderful friend. Our time spent with you and James in ministry, discipleship, and fellowship will always be cherished! The grin and twinkle in James' eye is what comes to mind when thinking of him, as well as his abiding love for Jesus and his urgency in seeing that all he met came to know his Savior. He surely loved his precious bride as do all who come to know her. Our love and admiration for your family will remain always. We love you!
With our deepest sympathy,
Jerry and Karen Carter

My son Jake once saw James & Shelia in Suwanee, Ga. and called several days later to mention the meeting. He was not sure which one of the Reed boys he had spoken w/ but when I asked for a description; Jake simply said " Dad he was the one that is always smiling " I of course immediately responded that it could only have been James. James was my friend as well as my cousin. He was never once judgmental and loved me in spite of my warts.

Sheila,
You and your babies and grand babies are in our thoughts and prayers. Your grief is deep and your burden is heavy and we are if we can help in anyway.
Please remember the sweet memories of your husband, father, grandfather and true Jesus follower.
James is better off now than he has ever been. He is hanging with Jesus.
We love y'all.
