Obituary of Jerry Bruce Werner

Please share a memory of Jerry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our loving Dad, Jerry Werner, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 7, 2017 at the age of 79 following a five year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 15 from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Werner. He is survived by his wife, Carrol Werner, Flowery Branch, GA; children, Kim and Ron Grey, Buford, GA, Scott and Jeanine Werner, Coconut Creek, FL, Shawn Werner, Flowery Branch, GA, Kelly and Mark Reardon, Lawrenceville, GA, Stacy and Todd Bruns, Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Jena Parke and husband, Nick, Benjamin Reardon, Dakota Bruns, Kasey Bruns, Chase Bruns, Haley Bruns, Ryan Grey, Kaleigh Werner, Kasey Ann Werner; great grandchildren, Liam Parke, Jackson Parke; several nieces, nephews and cousins Jerry was from Detroit, Michigan attending Denby High School, and then received his degree from Lawrence Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. His career spanned several decades with The Kopper's Company which began in Detroit, then Smyrna, and finally Pittsburgh. He later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and began working with Roof Structures Inc. After a rewarding career in the corporate world, Jerry ventured out on his own with the opening of Timber Systems, Omega Engineering, and Construction Material Specialties. And finally, his most recent endeavor, Concrete Preservation Systems, where he was a senior Consultant for Aquron Corporation International. He had recently retired in March 2017. Jerry's most cherished accomplishments, more importantly to him, were his love for God and family. He was a devoted husband to Carrol for 57 years, and the father of five wonderful children, that he was extremely proud of. He was an active member at each church he attended, where he assumed many leadership roles, at different levels of service. God used him in a profound way, were he could reach others and lead them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. But we rejoice that we will see him again in heaven.
