Celebration of Life

An “open house pot-luck style” remembrance and celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from Noon till 5:00 p.m. at their home located at 2143 Cain Circle, Dacula, GA 30019. Please do not send flowers to the funeral home or to the family. Billy would have said “you can’t eat flowers” so, please bring a favorite dish or drink and a story to share with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to a charity of your choice in the name of Billy D. Turner.

Mr. Billy Daniel Turner, 79, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Born on December 21, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Lester Turner and Linda Elizabeth Clack. Mr. Turner was a graduate of Tucker High School and served 6 years in the United States Army. Billy lived his life to the fullest to the end; he had many sayings that defined his one-of-a-kind character including "When You Play, You Pay" and "I Retired the Day I was Born". Survivors include his wife of fifty years: Manola Turner; two sons Stanley B. Turner and his wife Amy B. Cheslin of Aurora, CO and Michael D. Turner and his wife Barbara Turner of Hart County, GA; a daughter Deborah M. Turner of Dacula, GA; two grandsons, Brennen Turner and Austin Craft; granddaughter Bradleigh Turner; a brother, Norris Turner of Dacula, GA; and a sister, Joanne McDaniel of Bethlehem, GA. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James L. Turner. Mr. Turner wished to be cremated and a private viewing for the immediate family has been held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens.
