Obituary of Edith Joy Nelson

Edith Joy Nelson, age 93, of Jefferson, GA, died Saturday, January 13, 2018. Edith has been cremated and a memorial service will be held later. Edith was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Garst and Bernard Nelson, Jr.; sister, Loretta Bickford. She is survived by her son, David Nelson and wife Karen, Jefferson, GA; 5 grandchildren; brother, Col. Alden A. Scott (US Airforce Ret.), Charleston, SC; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Edith was born in Marlinton, West Virginia and had lived in the metro Atlanta area since 1980. She worked as a clerk of the court in Pocahontas County, West Virginia and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Salem, Virginia.
