Obituary of Maria Ionescu

Maria Margea Ionescu, age 82 of Lilburn, GA died Monday, November 19, 2018 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Matei Istudor will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. An evening service will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 from 7:30-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Maria is survived by her husband, Dumitru Ionescu, Lilburn; son, Sorin Ionescu and wife Christina, Lilburn; grandchildren, Andrei and Daniel Ionescu; sister, Marcela Andelenu and husband Cornel, OR; several nieces and nephews. Maria was born in Bucarest, Romania and moved to the metro Atlanta area in 1988. She worked in quality assurance at Ciba Vision and was a member of the Gwinnett Romanian Baptist Church.
