Obituary of James Robert Duffield

James Robert Duffield, age 76 of Dacula, GA and most recently Hoschton, GA peacefully passed away surrounded by family Thursday, July 16 2015. Mr. Duffield was born in Glendon, WV. As a young adult he was a natural salesman selling vacuums door to door in West Virginia. He soon would seize the opportunity to be at the forefront of technology, with Burroughs Corporation in the 1960's, selling automated banking equipment. Mr. Duffield's success led him from West Virginia to Tennessee and eventually Georgia where he has lived for the past 36 years. His numerous sales awards were a testament to his commitment to clients and his understanding of technological advancement. After retiring from Burroughs he continued his sales career in the technology industry working for various companies including Unisys, Timeplex, Alltel and Coin. In his spare time Jim was an avid fisherman having visited most of the Southeast lakes and rivers as he moved from state to state. He participated in several BASS tournaments and would later become a member of the Bellalago fishing club in Florida. Jim retired from sales to spend more time with his expanding family and his pursuit of the elusive bass. The latter would take him on several trips to Central America and what would become his home lake of Kissimmee Florida. Mr. Duffield is survived by his wife Pat Duffield, Hoschton, GA. Children, Dawn Steel and husband Thomas, Suwanee, GA, Debbie Doll and husband, Jay, Frederick, MD, Mike Duffield and wife, Marilyn, Woodstock, GA. Grandchildren, Kasey Lamkin, Jordan Steel, Jason Doll, Corinne Doll, Austin Duffield, Evan Duffield, Hayden Duffield, Katherine Duffield. Great Grandchildren, Oliver and Ava. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
