I am actually Rick’s aunt, but we were really more like siblings. Only 5 years separated us, so it always seemed he was the little brother I never had.
I remember helping him learn to read and teaching him how to play chess ( I think he was about 5 years old at the time...always a smart boy!).
I remember him driving the”Big Wheel” ‘round and ‘round the pool until he finally cut the corner too fast...and into the pool he went!
I remember he was very brave, but really upset because the Big Wheel floated ...and he did not!
We had some great “debates” about Georgia Tech vs UGA (my team). Rick...always the Yellow Jackets fan!
“Little Rick” grew up to be a beautiful, intelligent, witty, sarcastic (runs in the family...he got it honestly), strong, thoughtful, loving man.
I am sending all my love and prayers to his Mom (my sister Debbie) and his wife, Lori. You both (and my Mama of course) are the strongest women I know, and I love you all very much.
I love you “Little Rick”.

I have worked with Rick (RW) since he returned from Seattle. There was never a more diligent and organized man and I drove him crazy being the opposite. I'll always remember our arguments over sports. I never won, he was the coach. He was a fighter until the end and I will miss him terribly.
RIP my friend. You made me smile

I didn’t know Rick well, but my memory of him was the first year he and L were dating....they seemed perfect together both at ease together and at ease with anyone they encountered. I remember them to be in love from the start and happy together. I am so glad L that you met and fell in love....the kind of love that is hard to find. I’m so deeply sorry for anyone who knew and loved Rick. He seemed like he fought a hard battle and made the best of it. I pray God will give you all many showers of memories to continue to share and to pull each other up when any of you are down.
