Obituary of Mary Adeline Floyd

Mary Thornhill Floyd, age 86 of Buford, GA died Friday, March 15, 2019. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The Family will receive friends Friday, March 22, 2019 from 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted, or donations can be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 3390 S. Puckett Rd., Buford, GA 30519. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Floyd; brothers, J.C. Thornhill, Larry Thornhill, Lloyd Thornhill; sisters, Dot Royston, Winnie Ennis, Ruby Cross, Opal Mullinax. She is survived by her sons, Michael Floyd, Buford, Tracy Floyd (Kerri) Buford, Tony Floyd (Sandra); grandchildren, Patrick Floyd, Daniel Floyd, Reilly Floyd; great granddaughter, Charlee Floyd; Brother in-law, Ralph Mullinax (Sara), Buford; several nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Buford and a lifelong resident. She was a lifelong member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she shared her voice in choir and special music. She was a member of several singing clubs through the years where she performed in the Fox Theater and was featured on the PM Magazine show. Mary will be truly missed by her family and friends.
