Obituary of Howard Franklin Leathers, Jr.

Howard Franklin “Frank” Leathers, Jr., age 97 of Hoschton, GA, died Friday, June 21, 2019. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Rick Hanson and grandson Michael Downton will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 12-2 PM at the funeral home. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Sandy Leathers. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Elizabeth Taylor Leathers, Braselton; daughters, Bunny Gauntt, Buford, Jenny Downton and husband Ronald, Social Circle; grandchildren, Laurie Leines, Sharpsburg, David Leines, Sharpsburg, Julie Abare, Marietta, Matthew Downton, Decatur, Michael Downton, Social Circle; great grandchildren, Tyler Leines, Newnan, Sarah Leines, Buford, Logun Downton, Social Circle, Bailey Abare, Marietta, Gage Downton, Social Circle, Heather Downton, Athens. Frank was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was a lifelong resident of the metro area. He was a Veteran of the United States Naval Air Force and was self employed as a builder.
