Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Reed Hogan

Mary Elizabeth Reed Hogan, age 84 of Lawrenceville, GA died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Susan Gary Landry and will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016 from 6-8 PM and Saturday from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Hogan was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Hogan, Jr.; daughter, Eileen Porter; brother Albert A. Reed; grandson, Jonathan Porter. She is survived by her daughters and sons in-law, Debbie and Roy Kelley, Lawrenceville, Nancy and Peter Val Preda, Athens, GA, Karen and Sam Thompson, Lawrenceville; son in-law, Wayne Porter, Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Ryan Kelley, Kristin Kelley, Brianna Kelley, Michael Porter, Peter Val Preda, III, Aron Val Preda, Drina Miller, Amanda Thompson, Matthew Thompson; several greatgrandchildren; sister, Arlene Lehett, West Middlesex, PA; brother, Richard Reed and wife, Bonnie, West Middlesex, PA. Mrs. Hogan was born in West Middlesex, PA and had lived in the Atlanta area the past 50 years. She was formerly employed as a secretary with the United States Department of Defense where she served at the Pentagon. She was an active member of the Southern Railways Ladies Club and the Blossom Time Chapter of the ML Hummel Club. For many years she volunteered with the High Hope Charity Golf Tournament, was a poll worker and a member of Dacula United Methodist Church.
