Chip was truly one of a kind. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Chip never failed to show his sense of humor, love of life, and his family and friends always knew how deeply he cared for them. He was devoted to worthwhile causes ( that's for you Debbie) and a sportsman. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers as we recall fondly the memories that we shared.
With Love,
Hal and Dana Herron

We are sad at the passing of Chip and send our strongest good wishes to Debbie and the rest of the family. I have vivid memories of Chip when he came with Uncle Elmer to California for the funeral of our parents, Paul (Turpin) and Laura (Mitchell) who died within weeks of each other. I was grateful to Chip and Elmer for coming and representing the larger Turpin family for Daddy. Chip had that quiet and sly Turpin humor that we always loved in Daddy. Elmer did too. They gave me an idea where that came from. The pictures on this website give another idea of a strong and constant life of family and friendships and generations that Chip had. Debbie, I hope to meet you and your daughter and grand kids one day.
Cousin Nancy (Turpin) and my husband Bob (Gordon)

Worked with Chip for years in Bldg Industry. Getting a call from Chip was like comic relief, no drama! My condolences to his family!

Like Mickey, I grew up playing baseball with Chip. I caught him, and man he threw hard. My left thumb is literally still sore today. He had a tendency to be a little wild at times. A great combination for talking trash to batters and getting in their heads :) Later Chip sold me the lumber to build my house. Always willing to go the extra mile for you.
A lot of good times and memories Chip. You are missed.

I had the privilege of working with Chip for fifteen years in the Building Supply business. Chip was a joy to work with and was quick to thank me for anything I did for him. He was loved and respected by his customers and they often shared with me his dedication to helping them and always making himself available to them as they built homes in North Ga. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He loved you all dearly and was quick to share pictures with me. His pride was obvious. I loved him, too. He will be sorely missed. Vivian Youngblood

Chip and I met each other when we were 10 years old, playing baseball at Lilburn Lions Club park; later, we both played baseball at Berkmar. He was a great friend who I will miss very much. He always would call and let me know if someone from Berkmar was sick and had passed away, so of course his call to me 14 months ago to tell me about his illness was shocking to say the least. He fought a valiant fight and was always so upbeat whenever we talked. He was so fortunate to have Debbie as his wife, and she was fortunate to have him as her husband, and of course he loved Brooke and his grand kids. Bless you my friend, Mickey

Chip was just one of those people you were always glad to see. He was just a good person to all he ran across in his day-to-day life. Debbie was lucky to have him all these years and he was very lucky to have her. Very sad for his evil sickness taking him too soon and the loss for Debbie, Brooke, and all he left behind! Walt
