Obituary of Stanley Pugh

Stanley Pugh, age 76 of Buford, GA, died Friday, February 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Danny Newbern and Mr. Dale Farr will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends Monday, February 24, 2020 from 2 – 9 PM at the funeral home. Flowers accepted or the family requests memorial contributions be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford, in memory of Stanley. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Edmon and Jessie Lee (Moulder) Pugh. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Pugh, Buford; children, Paula Price (Dale), Buford, Marty Pugh (Darlene), Jefferson; grandchildren, Mickala Boatright (Joe), Auburn, Nolan Pugh (Maxwell Young), McLean, VA, Kinsie Pugh, Jefferson; aunt, Billie Rawlins, Sugar Hill; cousins, Annie Mae Pugh, NC, Kathy Grier (Bobby), Buford; several brothers in-law and sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews; faithful companion, his dog Charlie. Stanley was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong Buford resident. He was a graduate of Buford High School, Class of 1962, and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford. Stanley worked many years for Scientific Atlanta and then retired from Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation. He loved horses and anything western. After retirement he enjoyed tending to his animals, leather and wood working and having a garden. Stanley was full of personality and always had a story to tell, bringing laughter and love to all who knew him. Stanley will be deeply missed but leaves behind many great memories that will forever be treasured by his family and friends.
