I met Billy, Carolyn, Tennessee, Smitty, Eleanor & Mrs. Lott during our Senior Year (1961) in Macon, GA. We lost touch when he left for College. Quite surprised to see him and Tennessee at the Brightmoor Facility (Christmas 1966) where Tennessee was a resident. They were extremely talented! Condolences to the family of such a Christian Man.

Billy and I have been friends for many years. We were co-workers with the Gwinnett County Public Schools. Billy was instrumental in my transfer to Maxwell High School of Technology to become the school's counselor and where he served as assistant principal. I shall never forget our many conversations, but more importantly, I shall never forget him as my friend.

We were only neighbors for brief time. But We always found Billy to be charming, extremely intelligent and an interesting conversationalist. God bless the family, we have all lost an excellent example of God’s good people.

I retired from Maxwell HST in Spring of 2002 after 15 year of teaching Drafting. Probably 12 of the 15 were at what became Maxwell. Billy was always a roll model of a caring counselor and asst. principal. Always quick with a laugh and a smile and a kind wor, always an advocate for the students. A fine man indeed. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Guess God need a good counselor in Heaven. God bless.

I met Billy recently at The Oaks of Braselton where he and my mom, Pat McSweeney resided. They had formed a special friendship in the short time they had together and really enjoyed talking, laughing and sharing life. She always mentioned how great his smile was and she loved it when he smiled at her. On a couple visits I made, I brought him bottles of V8 Juice, one of his favorites, and got to know he and some of his family before all visitation ceased due to the pandemic. He was such a sweet man who was loved by so many. He will be greatly missed but I have faith he his with our Lord now and hopefully drinking as much V8 juice as he wants! I am praying for his family during this most difficult time and for my mom who misses her friend so much.
RIP Billy
