I was so very blessed to have Stanley as my grandfather. I have so many wonderful memories throughout my life with him. He was always encouraging and supportive and I have always felt so loved by him. He had a special relationship with my three kids and 8 nieces and nephews. He had a way of making them each feel special and he took so much time with each of them. He was always around and such a big part of our lives that we miss him so much. My daughter shared a birthday with him and both of my boys are named after him. We love you so much Papa and will never forget your sweet way and all of the things you taught us.

I once told Uncle Stanley that he reminded me of an angel with his blonde hair, soft spoken voice and sweet and kind spirit; this made him laugh. I loved Uncle Stanley very much and he will truly be missed. May you take comfort knowing that he is in heaven.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. With much love,
Joyce and Richard Mabry

Some of the people who leave us do so having taught us so much about how to live. My Great Uncle and Godfather was just that sort of person. His ready smile, quiet wisdom, deep faith, constant generosity, loving support, and easy grace made an impression on everyone he knew and met. Anyone who shook his hand knew the measure of his character. His loss cannot be measured, and neither can his impact on those of us fortunate enough to have been the recipient of his goodness. We are all poorer for his loss and richer for his living. Loving condolences to Aunt Helen and the entire family. Love from all of us in DC who wish so much we could be with you.
