Obituary of Vera Taylor Settle

Vera Taylor "Gonkie" Settle, age 99 of Buford, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Gwinnett Medical Center. A Funeral Service was held Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 3:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Mark Whiting and Rev. Glen Waldrop officiated. Interment followed in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. The Family received friends Friday, January 17 from 7-9 PM and Saturday January 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Settle was preceded in death by her Husband, C.P. Settle and Daughter, Martha Settle Barker. Surviving are: Grandchildren; Carol and Wayne Chandler, Buford, Thom and Cindy Barker, Snellville. Great-grandchildren; Chris and Shannon Chandler, Buford, Angie Barker and Geoff Barker, Snellville. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mrs. Settle was a native of Carroll County, TN and lived most of her life in Dekalb County, GA. She was a Charter Member of Briarcliff Baptist Church in Atlanta where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.
