Obituary of Jeanette Allen

Jeanette Puckett Allen, age 91, of Buford, GA, died Wednesday, December 31, 2020 after an extended illness. Graveside Service will be Monday, January 4, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.  Pastor Stephen Fountain will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to First Baptist Church, Buford.  Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Allen, whom she married on July 30, 1950 in Buford, her parents, Bolden and Dessie Puckett and sisters, Ruth Puckett and Marie Peevy.  She is survived by her children William Drew Allen and Donna, Columbia, TN, Stacy A. Waycaster and Ricky, Buford, Steven Lane Allen, Buford.  Grandchildren, Stephanie and TJ Golden, Heather Allen, Nick Waycaster, Jessica and JC Sawyer. Great Grandchildren, Halle, Aniston, Brantley and Callen Golden, Carter and Madison Waycaster, Taylor and Tinsley Sawyer. Jeanette was born in Buford on January 21, 1929 and was a 1946 Buford High graduate and attended Milledgeville all girls College in Milledgeville, GA.  She worked at the first telephone company in Buford for 10 years and retired from Buford Commercial Bank with 23 years working as a teller where she enjoyed all her drive thru customers.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Buford, an avid reader, enjoying all kinds of books, and she enjoyed working in her yard with her thousands of Azaleas.
