Roger M. Smith, age 82 of Winder, GA died Thursday, July 17, 2014 after a sudden illness. Mr. Smith has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. James Baxter will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Auburn/Carl Lions Club or The Auburn Masonic Lodge. Mr. Smith is survived by his Wife, Anna Smith, Winder, Son, Alan Smith and Wife Laurie, Walterboro, SC, Daughters, Dana Samples and Husband Van, Buford, Adria Smith, Flowery Branch, Grandchildren, Benjamin Smith, Cullen Smith, Caleb Samples, Christopher Smith, Stephanie Shaw, Leslie Berry, Megan Stoner, and Hope Samples, Great Grandchildren, Savannah Petty, Jordan Shaw, Roger Knox Honea, Audrey Burke, and Brody Burke. Mr. Smith was born in Livingston, TN and had lived in the Atlanta area for the past 49 years. He was retired from 3-D Construction and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Alpine Presbyterian Church, Alpine, TN, The Auburn/Carl Lion's Club, past Master of West Fork Masonic Lodge #648, Alpine, TN, past member of Masters Masonic Lodge #295, Decatur, GA, and an honorary member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge, #230.
