Dear Mary and family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. It is a comfort to us to know that you are surrounded by your family, church and friends. I wish we could be there with you, but know we are there in thought and spirit.
You know my special love for Walter goes back to the fourth grade at East Lake grammar school in Atlanta, where Walter and I first became friends. This special friendship continued through grammar school, high school at Murphy, Auburn University, and adulthood.
Over 75 years of friendship, and special memories, such as, Soft ball games at East Lake, sports at Murphy, planning dances, and hay rides at Murphy, and officers in ROTC participating in many competitions. Being in your wedding; or special trips when you and Walter came to see me, or I went to see you two.
As we moved into our careers, our jobs sometimes made it hard to visit, but we did stay in touch. Sometimes it was just a phone call, a letter, class reunion, or later email. Great memories that I will cherish relive and share.
Thank you and Walter for being such a true friends all these years.
