Darlene Jane Curran 1961-2021

After an 8 year battle with ALS, Darlene Curran of Dacula, Georgia passed away in her home on September 22, 2021.

If you knew Darlene at all, you would know she loved fall, and most people would agree with this statement, but her love was different. She decorated with corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, and hay bales more than she would for Christmas day. She owned a local favorite restaurant in Auburn and Dacula, The Harvest Table, another homage to her love for fall. So, it is fitting she was able to have just one more fall day before she passed.

Saturday October 2nd, we will be celebrating her life. There will be no formal services. Instead, her husband, Tim Curran, and family will be hosting a drop in celebration from 10am to 6pm at their home located at 2231 Cammie Wages Rd, Dacula, Ga 30019.

Darlene made it clear her wishes were for no one to buy flowers, make dinner, or buy any sort of gift for the family. Instead take the money you would have spent and donate it to the ALS association or to St. Jude. Both of these charities were near to her heart because both childhood cancer and ALS are "disgusting battles" that no one should have to fight.

There is one more interesting thing the family wishes to share. Darlene's dream was to own a restaurant. That dream came to fruition as The Harvest Table Restaurant on October 2nd, 1996. The day they celebrate her will be the 25th anniversary of that day.

In conclusion some lines from Darlene's favorite song, In Christ Alone.

No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From life's first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand

'Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

She believed in this every moment of her battle.
