Obituary of Barbara Hamrick

Barbara Martin Hamrick, 81, of Jefferson, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, died Tuesday, November 16, 2021. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2 PM at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Cindy Harrison will officiate. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hamrick; parents, Alf Martin and Newell Lancaster Martin; siblings, Charles Martin, Donna Jean Ball, and Edd Martin. She is survived by her children, LaDonna Hamrick of Jefferson, Laura Hamrick Maddox (Scott) of Braselton, Clay Hamrick (Jennifer) of Jefferson; grandchildren, Jessica Maddox, Breanna Latzzis, Isabella Hamrick; sisters-in-law, Sandra Martin of Danielsville, GA, Brooke Martin of Boerne, TX; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Buford High School, Class of 1958, where she played varsity basketball and was Captain of the team. She helped her parents operate the Martin’s Bargain Store and retired from Burton’s Jeans after 20 years. Barbara was a member of West Buford Baptist Church and a former member of the Night Owl CB Club and the Buford Jaycee’s.
