Obituary of Shirley Deer

Shirley Deloyce Deer, age 79 of Dacula, died Friday, December 10th, 2021 following an extended illness.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Derek Spain will officiate, and interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Deer grew up in Bodcaw, Arkansas on the family farm. At age 18 she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to pursue her education and a career. She met her husband Don in Little Rock during that time. After marriage Don & Shirley moved to Anchorage, Alaska for Don’s job. In 1975 Don & Shirley moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia where they lived for 20 years before moving to Dacula in 1995.  Shirley was retired from the Georgia Association of Petroleum Retailers and a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula. She was a beloved Mother and Grandmother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald Deer; Sister, Gelinda Smith; Brothers, Bob Spencer and Michael Spencer.

Surviving are: Son and Daughter-in-law, Michael and Colleen Deer of Braselton; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Susan and Tom Fuld of Dacula; Grandchildren, Rebecca Deer, Amanda Rowberry and husband Zach Rowberry, Spencer Fuld, Catherine Deer, Matthew Fuld, Kimberly Deer.
