Obituary of Melody Jones

Melody Jones, 56, of Gainesville, GA, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 following an extended illness. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor John Kinsey will officiate. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 4 – 6 PM at the funeral home. Melody was preceded in death by her father, David Jones, Sr. She is survived by her children, Jessica Benson (Bobby) of Lilburn, Jennifer Ingbritsen of Gainesville, and Jeramy Moates of Gainesville; grandchildren, Emily Ingbritsen and Alicia Benson; mother; Judy Jones of Gillsville; brother and sister, David Jones, Jr. (Karen) of Gillsville, and Michele Blomgren (Richard) of Dacula; former husband, Jerry Moates of Lawrenceville. Melody was born in Decatur, GA and was a lifelong resident of the metro Atlanta area. She was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church, Gainesville, and a member of the John Maxwell Group.
