Obituary of Mitchell Blake Anderson

Please share a memory of Mitchell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mitchell Blake Anderson, 31, passed away on January 27, 2022, in Gainesville, GA.  He was born in Winter Haven, FL on October 13, 1990. He graduated from Mill Creek High School, Hoschton, GA, in 2009. He attended the University of North Georgia, Dahlonega, GA where he was studying computer science.

A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Mitchell served his country as an ETSN in the submarine force - "Silent Service" aboard the Henry M. Jackson. During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Enlisted Submarine Warfare Specialist Breast Insignia, Navy Pistol Marksman Ribbon, and SSBN Deterrent Patrol Pin.

In addition to being a great patriot, Mitchell was a very kind, giving, and humble young man, always ready to help family, friends, and his country. He had a scientific mind and loved to invent things. Mitchell had a wicked dry sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was an entrepreneur, a hard-core gamer, and a "foodie." Mitchell loved anime, riding his motorcycle, and most of all his two kitties. To say the least, Mitchell was a character beloved by all and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by parents Dan and Wendy Anderson; sister Mandy Anderson; grandparents Ray and Jan Anderson, Dru Daniels, and David Simmons; many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Private services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20th at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center, and Monday, Feb. 21st at the Georgia National Cemetery.
