Obituary of Opal Atkinson

Opal Hogan Atkinson, 93, of Buford, GA, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Roark will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh T. Atkinson; brothers, James M. Hogan and Charlie Hogan; nephew, Jeff Hogan. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Hogan (Shirley) of Flowery Branch; niece and nephews, Beverly Hogan Odum, Matt Hogan, Robbie Hogan, Michael Hogan, Greg Hogan, and Tim Hogan; several great nieces and great nephews. Opal was born in Plains, GA to James Frank and Eula Brown Hogan and had lived in the metro Atlanta area for 78 years.
