Chris and I only met once in person here in Arizona. But we always had a close connection due to our personalities. He was a family man and cared deeply about his occupation and the sport of golf. I reached out to him earlier today only to find this obituary. That makes me extremely sad. Spread your wings, Chris because you're headed to a good place...

I met Chris a few years ago and he proudly claimed me as his "first student" here at Trophy Club Apalachee. We had a great bond and friendship through 2 of the craziest years of my life. I enjoyed his smiles, friendship, and a bit of tough love coaching. Even when he was tough on me, it actually built my confidence, because I can hear him saying, "you're better than that!" And he meant it even if I didn't believe it. We both struggled through health problems in 2021 and encouraged each other through them.
My 9 year old son took this recent photo, but I wish I had a better one to show us just smiling together...
Thanks for teaching me the "fold and unfold method," and reminding me to "find ya centa." I'll miss you so much.

I do no even know where to start. Chris is one of those golden nuggets that God places in your life journey. I purchased Trophy Club of Apalachee in 2020 and Hamilton Mill Country Club during the pandemic. Chris and I had long discussions about all things golf and was a mentor to me. Additionally Chris got me motivated to start playing again as I turned 50 in September and our goal was for me to start competing again. Chris had me "dialed" however I elected to have shoulder surgery in Oct so I could be fully ready for 2022. The recovery was slow but Chris and I continued to share all things golf. Chris is so loved by the Whitt family and he will be forever tied to our properties. We will figure out the proper way to memorialize Chris and he will be deeply missed by everyone. Donna we grieve with you and but also smile every time we think of him! Jeff Whitt, PGA
