Obituary of James Thornton
James M. Thornton, 66, of Cumming, GA, died Tuesday, September 6, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Lung Association, in memory of James.
James was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jack Thornton. He is survived by his children, Eliot Thornton (Katie) of Cumming, Andrew Thornton of Ranger, NC, Emily Thornton of Dallas, Victoria Caddell (Paxton) of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Carter Lee Pearce, Colton James Caddell, Everleigh Caddell, Everhett Caddell, Brenna Marie Thornton; brother and sisters, William Thornton (Carla) of Rabun Gap, Lynne Bell (Charles) of Winder, Carrie Lee Wyant (Jay) of Acworth.
James was born in Atlanta and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was self-employed as a plumber.
