Served in the Marines at Albany, Ga. With Doug. Lost track of each other when seperated from Marines in 1960. Had a reunion with him and five other Marines in Titusville, Fl early 1970s. All were working at Kennedy Space Center. He was a good friend and am sorry for his loss. God bless family and loved ones.

In Sept. 1960, Hurricane Donna was ripping through the Keys and Cocoa Beach was being evacuated. I had to leave so, Doug, who at the time was going to Albany to be with Pat when she was bringing Jill into the world, offered their apartment in Rockledge for us to ride out the storm. We survived and Jill was born.

Doug and I were in the Marines together at San Diego in Radar School and later at MCSC in Albany Ga. Later, we worked together for General Electric at Cape Canaveral and the last place we both worked was at the NASA Shuttle Logistics Depot in Cape Canaveral. During all those years, a lot of memorable things happened. One night we were going home out the old north road from the Cape and Doug was driving. We hit a deer and the deer was killed and Doug's little Buick station wagon was also killed. We had to get another ride home. We went to the Orange Bowl when Joe Namath was a sophomore at BAMA. We went out to eat with our wives many times and had lots of fun.
