Obituary of Emory Pinkey Maddox

Emory P. Maddox, age 81, of Buford, GA died on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 2PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Frank Pratt and Rev. Jerry Crocker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6PM - 8PM at the funeral home. Emory was preceded in death by a Great Grandchild, Leland Parks; and 10 Brothers and Sisters. He is survived by his Wife, Delores Maddox, Buford; Daughter, Jackie Maddox, Buford; Son & Daughter In-Law, David & Cheryl Maddox, KY; Grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Sharon Parks, David W. Maddox; Great Grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Edna Brown, Patrick Parks, Kaylee Parks; Sister, Flossie Cofer, Buford; Twin Brother, Ezra Maddox, Buford; Sister & Brother in-Law, Louena & Billy Titshaw, Buford; Brother & Sister In-Law, Thermon & Brenda Maddox, Commerce; Sisters & Brothers In-Law, Marjorie & Johnny Sudderth, Buford, Barbara & Doug Stephens, Gainesville; and a number of other relatives. Emory was a lifelong resident of the Buford area, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Buford. He had served in the U.S. Army, and later retired from General Motors.
