Obituary of Homer Thomas Kirkland

Mr. Homer Thomas Kirkland, age 71, of Angier, NC died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, August 15 at 7:00 PM at Buford First Baptist Church, 4550 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, GA 30518. Phone 770-945-9705. Rev. Charles Gilliland officiated. Interment was held Friday, August 16 at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fayetteville, TN. The Family received friends from 6:30 PM until time of service at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to The Leukemia Society, 2625 Cumberland Parkway, Suite 205, Atlanta, Georgia 30339 in memory of Mr. Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was born on October 8, 1930 in Champagne, IL to the late Samuel Reed Kirkland and Mary Kathleen Snoddy Kirkland. Surviving are Son and Daughter In-law, Thomas R. And Deborah Kirkland, Angier, NC: Son, Michael R. Kirkland, Doraville, GA: Daughters and Sons In-law, Susan and Don Davis, Phoenix, AZ and Patricia K. And Bill Peek, Duluth, GA: Daughter, Deborah K. Offutt, Duluth, GA: Brother, Harold Kirkland, Fayetteville, TN: Sister, Katherine K. Simmons, Fayetteville, TN: Eleven Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren. Mr. Kirkland was A retired Maintenance Supervisor in the restaurant business and a member of New Life Covenant Church. Rose and Graham Funeral Home, Benson, NC.
