Obituary of Candice Marie Maxwell

Candice Marie Maxwell, 29, passed away on March 25, 2012. She was born on March 11, 1983 in Champaign, Illinois and moved to Georgia at age 5 where she lived the remainder of her short life. Candice spent many years in Gwinnett County, Georgia until age 16, when she moved to Parkwood Developmental Center in Valdosta Georgia, a center specializing in the needs of handicapped individuals. Candice suffered from a severe seizure disorder and Cerebral Palsy since she was six months old. Although severally handicapped, Candice always had an infectious smile and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She is survived by her Father, Bruce A. Maxwell and his wife, Leigh Maxwell who live in Jacksonville, Florida as well as her Mother, Julia Marie Fowler Darley and her husband, William Darley, who reside in Dacula, Georgia. Candice had two sisters, Lauren and Julianna Walda, both of whom live with their mother in Dacula. Grandparents, Philip Maxwell and Debbie Maxwell, Springfield, IL, Dr. William G. Fowler and Marie E. Fowler, Batesville, AK. Uncles and Aunts, Norman Maxwell and Barbara Maxwell, Waterloo, IL., David Phillips and Gretchen Phillips, Durham, NC. Aunts, Elizabeth Maxwell, Springfield, IL. and Barbara Jan Fowler, Batesville, AK. Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 3 until 5PM, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens located at 3481 Hamilton Mill Road in Buford, Georgia 30519. The funeral will take place from 5 to 6PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow thereafter at Hamilton Mill Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Candice Marie Maxwell Parkwood Memorial Fund, established to provide direct medically based assistance to a designated handicapped resident(s) of Parkwood Developmental Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
