I did know Mr Holley personally but I still would like to give my regards to the family. In times of loss and sorrow, the scriptures can comfort our grieving hearts. Please note the words of First Corinthians 15:21, 22- "For since death is through a man resurrection of the dead is also through a man. For just as in Adam, all are dying so also in the Christ, all will be made alive."

Hommage to a brave, strong man.
Memory of a modern, generous, hospitable, multi-skilled brother in law.
Howard, I first met you when I was about 10-11 year of age. You were an U.S. Airforce-man in uniform, in love with my sister.. And for me, you were a kind of superman at that age.
Especially I remember the first 10 years. Almost every year we met during summer-holidays or during Christmas-time. Several times we travelled to the north-sea islands, the Hague, to Belgium and Germany.
The Hague, for us children, was wonderfull;: there I saw for the first time in my life things like cola in cans, frigs, ice-cubes, a toaster, a self owned car, Siamese cats (monkey in the churhlawn!), cigarettes like LS and Salem, we went to cinema, we got € 25 for a clog full of worms, we saw grammophones, bandrecorders, T.V. and we went to the P.X. at the base.
One night in particular I do remember. Together we travelled from Wiesbaden to Friesland, you unceasingly drove the car during the long nightly hours. Radio music on. It was so exciting, cosy, comfortable and SAFE, I felt as if I was your own son.
That feeling of safety had something to do with your skill and ability to make or repair everything. For me you were then, and later on, a kind of miracle-man.
We fished, we played chess , billiards, darts and we played the Dutch game of "sjoelen". Always you were an excellent winner with your characteristicly, deeply bent thumbs.
Later on, the distance between the continents of America and Europe prevented us for seeing each other more often, f.i. every year, but personally I visited you and Elley in Auburn about 5 times., I started to love America his nature and his people, The three of us went to New Hampshire , for me almost a replica of the Wiesbaden journey.
There are so many pleasant, innumerable memories, which I cherish in my life-time, when I think of you Howard and Elley, Jim, Cathy/Pam and the children!
Howard, I regret your just missing of the 55th wedding anniversary.
Howard I hope to see you in the after-life, if you are sad then, you may shed a tear in my company and still be my strong brave hero.

Great picture Jim. I've tried to put into words what I want to say, but can't seem to find the right ones. I will say that I'm glad that I met you....and your Dad and Mom. God Bless.
