Obituary of Norma Jean Conner

Norma Jean Conner, age 80, of Buford, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, following an extended illness. Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 20, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Charles Gilliland will officiate. Interment will be held at Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Don Conner and their infant son; Parents, Ernest & Velvia Porter; Brothers, Ernest Porter, Jr., and James Porter; Nieces, Judy Perkins and Gail Porter; Nephew, Johnny Porter. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Jones Cowart of Buford, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Norma was a lifelong resident of the Metro Atlanta area where she had later retired from Wrigley's. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Buford Chapter #317, where she once held the title of Grand Chaplain of Georgia. Norma was a wonderful, loving, and caring person.
