Obituary of Howard R. Burton

Howard R. Burton, age 83 of Flowery Branch died April 1, 2002 after an extended illness. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 3, at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lawrence Wilson officiated. Interment followed in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth. The family received friends on Tuesday, April 2 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the funeral home. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Building fund or Van fund 3390 South Puckett Rd. Buford, GA 30519. Surviving are: Wife, Bernice Burton, Flowery Branch: Step Daughters and Sons In law, Sherry and Scott Drummond, Duluth, Brenda and Fred Stanley, OK: Step Son, Buzz Hambrick, Flowery Branch and Dear Friend, Peggy Anderson, Gainesville. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Burton was an Army Veteran of WW II. An Ordained Deacon, a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Buford, a member of the Norcross Lions Club and was retired from the United States Civil Service.
