Obituary of Joe Marvin Johnston

Joseph Marvin "Joe" Johnston, age 85 of Buford, Georgia, died Monday, May 24. 2010. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by wife Janie Johnston. He is survived by his son Joel Johnston, Buford; Sisters In-law and Brothers In-law, Frankie and Jean Cofer, Powder Springs, Bill Ray and Bobbie Jean Cofer, Buford, Clara Mae and Roger Bailey, Buford, Doc and Cam Cofer, Lawrenceville, Flossie Cofer, Buford, Tallmadge and Marion Cofer, Nicholson; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Johnston was born in Buford, Georgia and was a life long resident of the metro Atlanta area. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired shipping clerk with Georgia Boot, and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford.
