Mrs. Helen H. Smith, age 77, of Buford, died Saturday, December 15, 2001, following an extended illness. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, December 19, 2001, at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Charles Gilliland officiated and interment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family received friends on Tuesday, December 18 from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Surviving are: Husband, Mr. Gilbert Lee Smith, Buford; Sons, Ralph Perkins, James Perkins, Texas, Ed Perkins, California; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren; Step-children, Stephanie Roberts, Arkansas, Ben Smith, Buford, Sharon Miller, Judy Smith, Ronnie Smith and Bobby Smith, Kentucky, Kevin Smith, Gainesville, Buck Smith, Snellville, Greg Smith, Arcade; 10 Step-grandchildren, 8 Step-Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Ann Fulford, Sara Roberts, Eleen Jaynes, Columbus. Mrs. Smith was a resident of Gwinnett County for the past 22 years and was a retired bookkeeper for Wells Fargo.
