Elva Jo O'Shields, age 78 of Suwanee, GA died Thursday, March 19, 2009. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lindsey Lewis officiated. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, GA 30096. Mrs. O'Shields is survived by Daughter and Son In-law, Karen and Hugh Douglas, Buford, GA; Son and Daughter In-law, Rusty and Cathy O'Shields, Suwanee, GA; Daughter, Mary Shepherd, Woodstock, GA; Grandchildren, Kelli Petway, Bonnie Douglas, Jay O'Shields, Josh O'Shields, Katie Shepherd and Adam Shepherd; Sister and Brother In-law, Andy and Don Overback, Flowery Branch, GA; Sister, Ann Rae Rutledge, CA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. O'Shields was born in Olean, NY and lived most of her life in the Atlanta area. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
