Obituary of Paul Thomas Russell

Paul Thomas Russell , age 35, of Atlanta, GA, husband of Dawn Chan Russell, died Monday, March 9, 2009. Born on March 7, 1974 in Sumter, SC, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis W. Russell. He was a wonderful Son, Husband, Brother, and above all else, he was a wonderful Father. He was an out-going, fun-loving, hard-working person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He worked at Fidelity National, and then moved to Colonial Bank as a Branch Manager/Area Manager. He ultimately went into the exclusive role as a Vice President responsible for Retail Banking. He was completing his final year at the University of Georgia Banking School. Paul was a member of the Forsyth and Gwinnett County Chambers of Commerce, and was the coordinator of the AJC News for Kids for Colonial Bank. Surviving are his loving wife, Dawn Chan Russell and the love of his life, his only son, Alexander Chan Russell (4) of Atlanta, GA; His parents, Francis and Karen Russell of Sumter, SC; his two Sisters, Julie Russell Hodler and Husband, Scott, of Johnson City, TN and Lynne Ellen Russell of Goose Creek, SC; a niece, Dakota Grace Hodler of Johnson City, TN; and his Maternal Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Garrison of Asheville, NC. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry R. Russell of Sumter, SC; Mrs. Effie S. Williams of Asheville, NC; and Mrs. Sadie W. Garrison of Georgetown, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Paul T. Russell Memorial Fund for the Benefit of Alexander C. Russell's Education at Colonial Bank, 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338. Funeral service was held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, Buford, on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2pm. Visitation was from 12 noon to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
