Mrs. Catherine T. "Kitty" Sims, age 85 of Buford, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001 following a sudden illness. Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 26, at 11:00 A.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel in Buford. Rev. Steve Wood and Rev. Mari Lane Brooks officiated. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family received friends on Wednesday, July 25, from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Flowers were accepted or contributions may be made to the Martha Brown UMC Stained Glass restoration fund, 468 Moreland Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30316. Surviving are: Sons and Daughters In-law, Howard "Jerry" and Martha Sims of Dallas, GA, Doug and Doty Sims of Buford. Grandchildren: Jo-El Howell of Dallas, TX, Stacy Padgett of Cumming, GA, Brett Sims of Alpharetta, GA, and Shannon Skelton of Sugar Hill, GA. Five Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Sims was a member of the Martha Brown UMC and a resident of Brookside Assisted Living in Buford.
