Barbara Marie Lewis Olson, age 60 of Dacula, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch. Father Fred Wendel served as celebrant. The Family received friends on Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made in Barbara's memory to the Ovarian Cancer Institute, 980 Johnson Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30342. (www.ovariancancer.org). Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Albin and Emily Johnson, Brother Bernard (Mary) Johnson and Sister Helen (Bill) Mosher. She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Olson, Dacula; Daughter, Amy Synar (Anaxim),Tulsa, OK; Son, Tyler Lewis (Sara), Elgin, IL; Beloved Stepdaughters, Tricia Olson, Denver, CO and Martha Olson, Atlanta, GA. Barbara also was the very proud grandmother of Julian, Jacob and Jack Synar, Tulsa, OK, Chloe and Barrett Lewis, Elgin, IL. Brother, Bill (Jolene) Johnson, SD; Sisters, RoseAnn (Weldon) Fredrick, MO, Mary (Richard) Steinbis, C A, Fran McMahon, CA, Jane (Bob) Rumrill, CO, Lorraine (Stuart) Tidblom, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was born in Madison, South Dakota and lived in Dacula the last 2 years. She was employed with the Gwinnett County School System as a Focus Teacher at Bethesda Elementary and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch. She lived in Dacula for a short time but made many dear friends during her stay.
