Obituary of Ernest A. Hayes

Ernest A. Hayes, age 87 of Jesup, GA and formerly of Buford, GA, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 after an extended illness. Funeral Service will be held Sunday March 16, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford. The body laid in state at 1:30 PM. Rev. Danny Newbern and Brother Warren Williams officiated. Interment followed in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The Family received friends on Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 5-9 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Hayes. He is survived by Son and Daughter In-law, Ricky and Patricia Hayes, Jesup, Son, Douglas Hayes, Buford; 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Agnes Pugh, Buford; Sister and Brother In-law, Mildred and Max Tapp, Doraville; Brothers and Sisters In-law, Howard and Patsy Hayes, Birmingham, AL, Boyce and Susan Hayes, Cumming; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Hayes was a native of Buford and had lived in Jesup for the past three years. He was retired from Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, GA and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford.
