Rex B. Carlisle, Sr., age 82 of Buford, GA, formerly of Conyers, GA, died Monday, December 17, 2007 after an extended illness. Funeral service were held Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev Bobby Linkous officiated. Interment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford. The Family received friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Carlisle was preceded in death by his grandson, Wesley Walker. He is survived by his wife Ruby Carlisle, Buford; Son and Daughter In-law, Rex B. and Susan Carlisle, Jr., Jonesboro; Daughters and Sons In-law, Melanie and Steve Walker, Gulf Shores, AL, Anita and Don Jones, Monroe, Melissa and Danny Colquitt, Buford; Grandchildren, James and Paula Carlisle, William Carlisle, Rex Carlisle, III (Bo), Mindy Walker, Whitney and Greg Morgan, Nathan Lord, Trey Jones, Braxton, Jones, Hannah Jones, Chris Colquitt, Jeff Colquitt, Greg Colquitt; Great Grandchildren, Sailor Carlisle, Maggie Carlisle, Phillip Morgan; Sister In-law, Elizabeth Carlisle, Stockbridge, Francis Carlisle, Griffin; Brothers In-law and Sisters In-law, Lonnie and Sally Crow, Lithia Springs, Payton and Loretta Hill, Lithia Springs; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Carlisle was born in Fulton County and was a lifelong resident of the metro Atlanta area. He was retired from Stone Container, Lithonia, GA and was of the Christian faith. He was a WW II Veteran of the US Navy where he served as a Fireman First Class. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
