Frank Morefield Olinger, Sr., age 82 of Winder, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 after an extended illness. Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lee Gibson and Rev. Marion Prather officiated. Interment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford with full Military Honors. The Family received friends on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 1 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Olinger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Olinger, Winder; Daughters, Karen Scalisi, Lafayette, LA, Rebecca Mitchell, Winder; Son, Frank Olinger, Jr., Winder; Son In-law, Robert Mitchell, Winder; Grandchildren, Shane Scott, Lafayette, LA, Brett Scott, Lafayette, LA, Amanda Yaptengco, Winder, Amy Brannon., Winder, Angel Scalisi, Lafayette, LA; Great Grandchildren, Tristan Yaptengco, Winder, Cameron Yaptengco, Winder, Nathanial Scott, Lafayette, LA, Chayse Brannon, Winder; Sisters and Brothers In-law, Pat and Ron Borker, Sierra Vista, AZ, Betty and Burt Arnette, Plainville, IN; Brother and Sister In-law, Jack and Ivie Olinger, Oxford; Brother, Carl Olinger, Wabash, IN; Sister In-law, Rozalia Olinger, Columbus; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Olinger was born in Wabash, IN and lived in Winder, GA the past 6 years. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he earned a purple heart in the Battle of Iwo Jima, was formerly employed as a Salesman with True Value Hardware in Riverdale, GA and was of the Baptist faith.
