Lora Frances Carter, age 85 of Oakwood, GA, died Saturday, November 4, 2006 after an extended illness. Funeral Service was held Monday, November 6, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Minister Ted Garner officiated. Interment followed in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, McDonough, GA. The Family received friends on Sunday, November 5, 2006 from 2 to 4 P.M. at the funeral home.
Surviving are Son and Daughter In-law Wayne and Ann Knight, Fayetteville; Sons, Lawrence Knight, Oakwood, Ronnie Knight, Senoia; Daughter and Son In-law, Cheryl Froelich and Glenn Loudermilk, Flowery Branch; Daughter, Deborah Hasty, Grayson; 6 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters In-law, Hoyt and Edie McLendon, Lake City, FL, Howard and Frances, McLendon, Gadsden, AL, Milton and Joyce McLendon, Locust Grove, GA, Gene and Dot McLendon, Covington, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Mrs. Carter was a native of Coweta County, Georgia and lived in Oakwood the past 5 years. She retired from the IRS as a tax examiner, was a member of Atlanta Road Church of Christ, Gainesville, a member of the Republican National Committee and fought to have the 10 Commandments displayed in Barrow and Hall Counties.
