Obituary of Ralph Matthews

Ralph Matthews, age 84 of Tucker, GA, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Graveside service was held Friday, September 29, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford. Rev. Danny Newbern officiated. The Family received friends on Friday, September 29, 2006 from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his wife Betty Kilgore Matthews and daughter Leigh Ann Matthews Hilbun. Surviving are; Stepsons and Daughters In-law, Brad and Teresa Cole, Tucker, David and Donna Cole, Beech Island, SC and John and Connie Cole, Lawrenceville. Grandchildren, Dustin Cole, Christa Cole, Allison Cole, James Cole and Andrea Cole. Mr. Matthews was a native of Wilmington, NC and lived in the metro Atlanta area the past 20 years. He was a Marine Veteran of WWII where he served as a Navy pilot and earned his Navy Wings. He was a retired salesman in the wholesale/retail industry and of the Methodist faith.
